Staedel Museum or just Staedel is a "Gruenderzeit" style building on the banks of the Main River.
The Museum is a foundation of the banker Johann Friedrich Städel (1728 - 1816)
who left his house, an art collection of about 500 paintings
and his fortune with the idea to create a Museum.
